HEDGEHOGS
Hedgehogs are usually about in our gardens from late February to early December, but it really depends on the weather. After the first one or two warm days of the year, the hedgehogs may appear out of hibernation, but this is when they run into trouble. The weather can turn back to bitter cold and the hedgehog will be weak from its hibernation, having used up all it’s reserve of body fat.
We provide a staple food for feeding hedgehogs in our feast mix as well as an energy boosting treat mix. both of these mixes should help sustain any hedgehog or hoglet you are lucky enough to have visiting your garden.
Whilst hedgehog treat does contain mealworms it is not recommended as a main food. Our hedgehog feast contains specially formulated biscuits which are much more appropriate for sustaining a hedgehog's needed diet.
