'Gone With The Wind' (Tips & Tricks for Bird Feeding in Extreme Winds!)
Sometimes its more than your hair that gets messy in the wind! In adverse weather conditions bird seed can get blown about and feeders get knocked off their perches. We thought it might be a good idea to list some useful tips and tricks that we have found helpful in getting one over the terrible weather we can get here in the UK!
Dried fruits are nutritious, full of energy and a great addition for your wild birds. Raisins are one of the most popular options as they are flavoursome, packed with all of the right nutrients and available all year around.
Through the winter they provide that much needed energy boost and in summer time they provide this energy as well as hydration especially when soaked. Dried fruits are added to our mixes such as our Premium Softbill Mix, Wild Bird Luxury Treat, Brinvale Robin Insect and Ultimate Ground, which are all popular mixes. These mixes are enjoyed by a variety of birds, especially softbill birds such as Blackbirds, Songthrushes and Robins, meaning that by providing dried fruits it is likely you can attract a range of birds to your garden. Be careful when feeding raisins to wild birds as they are extremely harmful to dogs.
Our raisins are designed for birds and are not suitable for human consumption.
