Big Garden Bird Watch 2018
It’s the big garden bird watch this weekend (27th – 29th Jan 2018). This event which for the last few years has helped improve some species of birds populations rise and recorded what birds we find over here in the UK. We all know that feeding the birds year round helps but what else can?
'Gone With The Wind' (Tips & Tricks for Bird Feeding in Extreme Winds!)
Sometimes its more than your hair that gets messy in the wind! In adverse weather conditions bird seed can get blown about and feeders get knocked off their perches. We thought it might be a good idea to list some useful tips and tricks that we have found helpful in getting one over the terrible weather we can get here in the UK!
Suet Pellets & Logs
Suet pellets are an exceptional choice for feeding wild birds as they are tasty, easy to digest and full of energy and nutrients. They are the perfect ‘go to’ food for birds when they are in need of that extra boost so they are great as to be included in your feeding regime. Here at Brinvale, we have a great range of suet pellets including our latest addition ‘mini suet pellets’ that are especially designed for fledglings due to their size and added calcium content. We also stock mixed suet pellets, a blend of apple, berry and insect pellets that are unique to Brinvale. These pellets are loved by all birds and are the most popular suet pellets product options that we supply.
Suet logs and Jumbo Suet Bars differ from suet pellets in terms of the way that they are fed, yet they still boast all of the same great benefits. While suet pellets are often carried to a nest, suet logs and bars are often pecked at from a feeder. This means that while both contain nutrients, energy and calories, providing Suet logs or Jumbo Suet Bars in your garden, means you can attract birds to feeders and enjoy watching them as they feed.
