Dried Mealworms
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 - 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀
Dried mealworms are a great source of protein and when the winter months come these become an important food source.
Protein in these mealworms are also great when breeding season comes around as the chicks rely on these nutrients that they can only get from insects.
Even though they are dried, they do not loose any nutrition that they would offer if they were alive. If you wanted them to be more plump, you can soak them in water for 10-15 minutes and they will double in size, which is thought to be easier for the chicks and other birds to eat and they help to progress the development of newborn chicks!
They can be fed in a number of different ways! These include:
- From a bird table
- On a feeding tray - hanging or on the floor tray
- In a robin feeder
- In a window feeder
- Mealworm feeder
- In a caged mealworm feeder
